Amish boy crashes horse and buggy in chase

Bahahaha!   You can’t make this kind of stuff up, can you?

An Amish teen was charged with alcohol possession and “overdriving an animal” after crashing a horse and buggy while fleeing police in New York, officials say.

Cattaraugus County sheriff’s deputies allege Levi E. Detweiler, 17, ran a stop sign 1:30 a.m. July 12 and refused officers’ commands to stop his buggy, The Buffalo (N.Y.) News reported Monday.

Deputies pursued Detweiler for almost a mile before the teen careened into a ditch after making too sharp of a turn into a driveway. Detweiler ran away but was later found in the area, the News said.

He has been charged with possession of alcohol by someone under 21, over-driving an animal, second degree reckless endangerment, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

The minds-eye pictures playing out in my head have me rolling on the floor!
