Saw this on the Slices of Laodicea blog tonight and it struck a chord.
“It is not our way of putting the gospel, nor our method of illustrating it, which wins souls, but the gospel itself does the work in the hands of the Holy Ghost”
I’ve seen and been in churches where different ‘formulae’ have been tried to bring souls to the Lord, but every soul where Gods Word has ‘fallen on good ground’ has always been a work of the Lord alone that I have ever seen.
I’ve heard Christians comment that God doesn’t do miracles any more, which is a silly statement anyway. Every time a soul is born again into the Kingdom of God it is a miracle of the awe inspiring kind. A heart that was dead in it’s sin has been given new Life. How can that be anything but a great miracle?
